The Oostkerk in Middelburg is a seventeenth-century Protestant church, built between 1647 and 1667 to a design by Pieter Post. Its striking octagonal floor plan makes it one of the finest examples of Dutch classicist church architecture. Today the building serves as a cultural venue for concerts, exhibitions and other events.
