Rootsriders & Mo Ali

For two decades, Rootsriders have brought Bob Marley's music to stages around the world. Since 2017, they have performed alongside Sudanese singer Mo Ali, a collaboration that showcases reggae in its purest form. At De Oostkerk, they honour the King of Reggae once again with a show full of classics.

In this jubilee year, Bob Marley fans get to help choose which songs are performed. The evening features a programme of timeless tracks, delivered with respect and energy for the original. As support, the band also plays songs from their recently released album Beautiful Day Beautiful Life, which showcases their own reggae sound.

Rootsriders was founded in 2006 to mark the 25th anniversary of Bob Marley's death, with a sold-out debut concert at Melkweg in Amsterdam. Over the years, the band evolved into an international live act, featuring former members such as Mitchell Brunings, Shirma Rouse and Giovanca. In 2021, they reached the final of The Tribute, Battle of the Bands and performed alongside the other finalists in a sold-out Ziggo Dome. Today, Rootsriders are a fixture on festival and concert stages throughout the Netherlands and beyond.
