Anneke van Giersbergen

The Irish Road Trip is an intimate concert by Anneke van Giersbergen, dedicated to Irish music - from ancient folk melodies to modern rock by U2, from Enya to The Dubliners. Her own record collection of Irish music inspired this concert series.

Anneke van Giersbergen became known as the frontwoman of metal band The Gathering, with which she achieved international success. She then built a solo career in theatre, with musical concerts about Madonna and Kate Bush. In the 2024-2025 season, she toured with Heavy Strings, where she arranged metal songs in classical arrangements.

At De Oostkerk in Middelburg, she presents a programme with hidden gems and world-famous hits from Ireland.
