Anneke van Giersbergen (born 1973 in Sint-Michielsgestel) is a Dutch singer, songwriter and guitarist who rose to international prominence as the frontwoman of The Gathering from 1994 to 2007. Since leaving the band she has built a wide-ranging solo career - first as Agua de Annique, later under her own name - spanning rock, folk and symphonic music. She has collaborated extensively with Devin Townsend, Ayreon mastermind Arjen Lucassen and Anathema, among others, and received the 2019 Buma ROCKS! Export Award for her standing in international heavy music.
Anneke started her Dutch club tour in April 2026 to promote the EP 'La Mort', with shows in Hengelo, Tilburg, Haarlem, Leeuwarden, Deventer and Nijmegen.
The second EP 'La Mort' from the trilogy 'La Vie, La Mort, L'Amour' was released on 27 March 2026, followed by a special vinyl edition for Record Store Day on 18 April.
