Dayna Kurtz & Robert Maché

Dayna Kurtz is an American singer-songwriter with a warm, powerful voice and slide guitar style often compared to Nina Simone, Marianne Faithfull, and Jeff Buckley. She broke through in the Netherlands with her 1998 debut album Postcards From Downtown, which was featured on Dutch television and later on Vrije Geluiden around the release of Rise & Fall.

Since then, she has built a loyal following and released albums regularly. She has performed alongside Elvis Costello, Richard Thompson, Rufus Wainwright, BB King, and Norah Jones, and headlined festivals including Ramblin Roots in Utrecht and the Walk On festival at theater Caprera, organized by Tim Knol - with whom she also sang several songs.

Beyond her solo work, Dayna runs a side project: Lulu & the Broadsides, exploring the blues and soul of New Orleans with contributions from prominent New Orleans musicians. Songs from that project feature in her shows with Robert Maché.

In 2026, it marks exactly 25 years since Postcards From Downtown was released. For this occasion, Dayna released a remastered anniversary edition with bonus tracks, available on CD and for the first time on vinyl. These older songs now play a major role in her live set, alternating with newer material - and she regularly invites the audience to request songs from her extensive catalogue. This means every show is slightly different.
