In The Woods: Dayna Kurtz & Robert Maché

"In the Woods" is a regular seated concert series at Fort33, a non-profit event dedicated entirely to the music.

It has been some time since Dayna Kurtz last performed on the Fort33 stage with Robert Maché. Both artists have their roots in the musical melting pot of New Orleans. Kurtz is a singer-songwriter who has been touring intensively for years; her voice is warm, powerful and deeply lived, her slide guitar playing equally striking. She is regularly compared to Nina Simone, Marianne Faithfull and Jeff Buckley, and has shared the stage with Elvis Costello, Richard Thompson, Rufus Wainwright, B.B. King and Norah Jones.

The Netherlands has always held a special place in her career - she achieved her breakthrough here. In 2003 she performed on the TV programme Barend & Van Dorp with "Love Gets in the Way", from the album Postcards From Downtown. She also appeared in Vrije Geluiden and headlined festivals such as Ramblin' Roots in Utrecht and the Walk On Festival at theater Caprera, organized by Tim Knol. In 2026 it will be exactly 25 years since Postcards From Downtown was released; to mark the occasion, she is releasing a jubilee edition with remastered versions and bonus material, on CD and for the first time on LP. During her performances she plays a mix of old and new work and regularly asks the audience for song requests.
