Adriaan Van Dis - Everything for the Journey
Following his new novel "Everything for the Journey", Adriaan van Dis takes the stage at De Oostkerk for a special Van Dis Unfiltered performance, in conversation with editor Simon Dikker Hupkes.
In the podcast Van Dis Unfiltered, Adriaan van Dis talks fortnightly with editor Simon Dikker Hupkes from the author's room at Atlas Contact Publishers about everything on his mind. After more than 60 episodes - reaching over 2 million listens - Adriaan and Simon are now touring the country with a theatre tour where they speak openly about the new novel.
"Everything for the Journey" tells the story of a terminally ill woman who chooses a hospice so she can also receive her lover there. In her remaining weeks, she asks him to take her on a journey. The couple escape into imagination, make literary journeys and find support in writers - but also explore each other: their differences, similarities, the lies, betrayals and wounds that shaped them.
The conversation covers poetry, infidelity, truth and lies, and above all a great love for an unforgettable woman. There will be an opportunity for questions from the audience. After the show, books will be available for purchase and signing. Coffee or tea included.
