Adriaan van Dis (born 1946 in Bergen aan Zee) is a Dutch novelist, television presenter and podcaster with a body of work spanning more than twenty-five books. He made his debut in 1983 with the novella 'Nathan Sid' and reached a wide audience with the bestseller 'Indische duinen' (1994), rooted in his family's Dutch-Indies colonial past. He also presented the literary television programme 'Hier is... Adriaan van Dis' and the VPRO travel series 'Van Dis in Afrika' and 'Van Dis in Indonesië'. His awards include the Constantijn Huygens Prize, the Libris Literature Prize and the Gouden Ganzenveer for his complete oeuvre.
On 20 January 2026, his new novel 'Everything for the Journey' was published by Atlas Contact, about a years-long secret love affair.
'Everything for the Journey' topped the CPNB top 60 for three weeks and received widespread positive reviews in, among others, NRC, Het Parool and de Groene Amsterdammer.
