Bookcase Concert 'The Last Gondola' - with Jan Brokken and Jeroen van Veen

In the Bookcase Concert 'The Last Gondola', author Jan Brokken and pianist Jeroen van Veen present a programme together around Venice, where literature and music alternate and complement each other.

Brokken reads from his book The Last Gondola, about the history, culture and melancholy of the city - a story of farewell and transience. Van Veen frames these texts with works by Franz Liszt (La lugubre Gondola) and Igor Stravinsky (excerpts from The Rite of Spring and Petrushka).

The concert takes place at De Oostkerk in Middelburg and is a collaboration with the Drvkkerij.
