Filip Jordens
By popular demand, Filip Jordens returns to De Oostkerk. With passion, power and tenderness, he delivers a striking resemblance to Brel - his voice, energy and interplay with the musicians bring "le grand Jacques" back to life, moving and timeless.
Belgian theatre maker, singer and actor Filip Jordens (born 1975) has been performing since the age of twelve. His production Of Scheikunde received the Signaalprijs in 1994, and in June 2000 he graduated from Studio Herman Teirlinck in Antwerp as 'Master in Kleinkunst' (cabaret arts).
His career is diverse. From 2002 to 2013 he was part of the artistic core of Theatergezelschap Bad Van Marie, whose programme Win een Auto (2006) was nominated for Het Theaterfestival Vlaanderen en Nederland. For fifteen years he played Monsieur Brun in La Trilogie by Marcel Pagnol with Compagnie Marius. He also appeared in Zusje Harmonica (2000), Richard III (2002) and Goddam! A Tribute to Dr. Nina Simone (2009/2010). In 2018-2019 he played the title role of Don Quixote/Cervantes in an adaptation of the musical L'Homme de La Mancha, with performances in Belgium, Montevideo and Madrid - and in May 2021 he played that role again at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
