New Cool Collective

New Cool Collective was born in 1993 at Amsterdam's Soul Kitchen, where saxophonist Benjamin Herman and DJ Graham B first performed together. That collaboration grew into an eight-piece ensemble that has since played at leading clubs and festivals worldwide - both as a steady 8-piece band and as a 19-piece big band. Over the years they have worked with Tony Allen, Mapacha Africa, Andrew Roachford, Jules Deelder, Typhoon, Guus Meeuwis, Matt Bianco, Thierno Koité and Georgie Fame, among others.

In 2025, On Tour was released, a live album capturing the energy and versatility of New Cool Collective Big Band. The band played sold-out concerts at Paradiso, Het Concertgebouw and Ronnie Scott's in London. Their motto: "Get the people moving" - both physically and mentally.

In early 2027, the collective returns to De Spot in Middelburg. The line-up features Benjamin Herman (saxophone), Rory Ronde (guitar), Joost Kroon (drums), Frank van Dok and Jos de Haas (percussion), Willem Friede (keyboards), Leslie Lopez (bass) and David Rockefeller (trumpet).
