
New Cool Collective
Dutch jazz ensemble New Cool Collective blends jazz, Latin, afrobeat and dance with live improvisation and grooves.
New Cool Collective is a Dutch band founded in 1993 by saxophonist Benjamin Herman and DJ Graham B at Amsterdam's Soul Kitchen. The eight-piece outfit - which also performs as a 19-piece big band - blends jazz, afrobeat, Latin rhythms and funk into a set that works equally well in small clubs and on major festival stages. Over the years they have won two Edison Awards and collaborated with Tony Allen, Typhoon and Georgie Fame, among others. In 2024 they marked their 30th anniversary with sold-out shows across the Netherlands.
On October 3, 2025, the live album On Tour was released, recorded during the sold-out anniversary shows at Paradiso, CarrΓ©, LantarenVenster, SPOT and Doornroosje.
After a special evening at Het Concertgebouw with special guests Kymara and Nana Adjoa, the live album On Tour was released as a direct result of those shows.
In 2024, New Cool Collective celebrated their 30th anniversary with sold-out shows throughout the country and released the album Everything Is OK.
The 30th anniversary was celebrated, among other things, with a sold-out performance at Paradiso and a special live EP 30 Years Live!
