Peter Bernstein Quartet (US)
Jazz guitarist Peter Bernstein performs with his American quartet at Paradox. An evening of refined melodies and subtle strength featuring pianist Sullivan Fortner, bassist Doug Weiss and drummer Kush Abadey.
Peter Bernstein (New York, 1967) is one of the most respected jazz guitarists of his generation. Rooted in bebop but never confined by it, he has built a career as both a bandleader and a sought-after sideman - working alongside Sonny Rollins, Joshua Redman, Diana Krall and Brad Mehldau, among many others. He has taught at NYU, the New School and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and for over three decades has been known for his warm tone and melodically incisive improvising.
Bernstein released the album Better Angels on Smoke Sessions Records, with Brad Mehldau (piano), Vicente Archer (bass) and Al Foster (drums).
Bernstein toured as a duo through Europe with Dutch guitarist Jesse van Ruller, with performances in Berlin and other cities.
Bernstein performs with his quartet (Sullivan Fortner, Doug Weiss, Kush Abeday) a series of concerts in the Netherlands, including Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Groningen and Tilburg.
