Luís Vicente Trio (PO) | Expanding Horizons

The Luís Vicente Trio consists of trumpeter and composer Luís Vicente, Gonçalo Almeida on double bass, and Pedro Melo Alves on drums. For this tour, they expand the trio into a quintet, with pianist Leo Genovese and tenor saxophonist Tony Malaby as guests.

The five musicians share an openness to risk and a willingness to shift between structure and freedom, lyricism and abstraction. Genovese's rhythmic imagination and Malaby's expressive phrasing add new layers to the trio's sonic palette.
