Maarten Hogenhuis' BLOOM

Maarten Hogenhuis began his career as a jazz saxophonist rooted in the jazz tradition and evolved into a multi-instrumentalist and producer. He works across diverse genre-spanning projects, including a duo with Jesse van Ruller, as sideman for Thomas Azier, and as a member of BRUUT!.

For his Paradox Residency Concert, he brings together his jazz background with the sonic world he inhabits as a producer. The music moves between jazz, ambient and groove-oriented styles. The group features Belgian drummer Simon Segers (De Beren Gieren, Black Flower) and bassist/vocalist Nana Adjoa.

At a Paradox Residency Concert, a jazz artist works for several days in Paradox's music studio on new material, collaborating with (partly) new musicians from the Netherlands and abroad. The result is a residency concert for the public.
