
Maarten Hogenhuis' BLOOM
Jazz saxophonist Maarten Hogenhuis presents BLOOM, a residency concert blending jazz, ambient and groove with drummer Simon Segers and vocalist Nana Adjoa.
Maarten Hogenhuis (born 1986, Leeuwarden) is a Dutch jazz saxophonist, composer, producer and bandleader. He is best known as a member of Amsterdam powerjazz group BRUUT!, as a duo partner with guitarist Jesse van Ruller, and as a sideman with singer Thomas Azier. He has released five albums under his own name and served as artistic director of the Dutch National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NJJO) from 2019 to 2021.
Hogenhuis released his fourth trio album 'Cole.' - a tribute to Cole Porter, recorded in one day with bassist Phil Donkin and drummer Mark Schilders, largely in one take.
The Maarten Hogenhuis Trio performed concerts at Bimhuis (Amsterdam), LantarenVenster (Rotterdam) and Paradox (Tilburg) to present 'Cole.'.
