French saxophonist Émile Parisien brings his Floating Quartet to Paradox: an international ensemble featuring bassist Linda May Han Oh, pianist Yaron Herman and tabla player Prabhu Edouard.
Émile Parisien (born 1982 in Cahors, France) is a soprano and alto saxophonist widely regarded as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary European jazz. Raised in Marciac and trained at the Conservatoire de Toulouse, he moved to Paris around 2000 and founded his own quartet. His recordings on the ACT label - with partners including Vincent Peirani, Joachim Kühn and Ballaké Sissoko - have earned him the Prix Django Reinhardt (2012) and two Victoires du Jazz (2009, 2014).
Parisien released the duo live album Freiheit in 2026 on ACT Music, recorded with pianist Michael Wollny during the Bodenseefestival 2025.
The quartet Sissoko Segal Parisien Peirani released Sou Kora in 2025, the follow-up to the acclaimed album Les Égarés.
Parisien's quartet - with pianist Julien Touéry, bassist Ivan Gélugne and drummer Julien Loutelier - released the album Let Them Cook on ACT Music.
Parisien performed in Rotterdam (de Doelen) as part of his European tour.
Les Égarés, the boundary-crossing album by the quartet Sissoko Segal Parisien Peirani, was released on 31 March 2023 and combined African, jazz and classical music.
