On 13 November, De Spot transforms into a blues bar for a double bill that will shake the venue to its foundations: southern jamband Leif de Leeuw Band and the traditional fifties Chicago blues band Big Dave & The Dutchmen.

Leif de Leeuw Band is Europe's premier southern jamband. Frontman Leif de Leeuw has been named the Benelux's best blues-rock guitarist ten years running. With six musicians on stage, the band delivers a live show packed with blazing guitar solos, duelling drummers and screaming Hammond sounds, with improvisation at the heart - no two shows are ever the same. Over more than a decade, the band has built an international reputation through tours across Europe, the United States and China. Their sound combines rock, blues, Americana, country and southern rock with a seventies flavour, inspired by bands like Gov't Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, Blackberry Smoke, Chris Stapleton and The Wood Brothers.

Big Dave & The Dutchmen bring traditional fifties Chicago blues from a fresh, alternative angle - no well-worn paths, but depth. Frontman Big Dave Reniers (known from Electric Kings and Dizzy Dave Band) is a master harmonica player and charismatic singer. He is flanked by a line-up of renowned blues and roots musicians: Roel Spanjers (Luther Allison, Smokey Wilson) on piano and vocals, Mischa den Haring (T-99, Chung Kings) on guitar and vocals, Darryl Ciggaar (Dry Riverbed Trio, Ian Siegal) on drums and vocals, and Dusty Ciggaar (Ian Siegal, The Rhythm Chiefs) on bass and vocals. Together they deliver blues songs with feeling and respect for their origins, without simply copying them.
