Starman - The Dutch David Bowie Tribute

In 2027, the album 'Heroes' celebrates its fiftieth anniversary, and for this occasion Starman - The Dutch David Bowie Tribute presents a new show: HEROES - 50 YEARS TOUR. On 25 March, the show comes to Poppodium Nieuwe Nor in Heerlen.

Starman has built its reputation through performances at the Ziggo Dome and Gelredome, successful theatre and club tours, and shared the stage in 2024 with former musicians of David Bowie at AFAS Live. The programme features a compilation of Bowie's greatest hits - from Space Oddity to Let's Dance, from Life On Mars to Heroes itself.

The 1977 album 'Heroes' was inspired by Cold War themes of fear and isolation that hung over Berlin at the time. The title track tells the story of two lovers meeting at the Wall. What may have held personal meaning for Bowie grew into a worldwide anthem for freedom. The day after Bowie's death, Germany's Foreign Ministry expressed it this way on Twitter: "Good-bye, David Bowie. You are now among #Heroes. Thank you for helping to bring down the #wall."
