Paceshifters Play Nevermind
1991 was the year Nirvana catapulted alternative music into the mainstream with Nevermind. 35 years later, that album still sounds as urgent as ever. Paceshifters, one of the Netherlands' finest rock bands, make no secret of their love for Nirvana - inspired by acts like Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana, they have been touring Europe for 15 years.
For this evening, Paceshifters pay tribute to Nevermind and its creators. Don't expect a complete album performance, but plenty of tracks from it supplemented with other Nirvana classics - played as if their lives depend on it.
Support comes from Cloudsurfers, a Nijmegen-based band blending garage punk, post-grunge and psychedelic rock. With a sharp sense of melody and layered sound, they combine raw energy with solid hooks and cutting melodies.
