Extince - 30 Years Spraakwater
Cultuurpodium Groene Engel, Oss
This is a standing concert.
Extince - also known as De Exter-O-Naldus, Prince Extince or simply Peter Kops - is regarded as the father of Dutch hip-hop. In 1995, he scored the very first Dutch-language hip-hop hit with 'Spraakwater', conquering the Netherlands and Belgium. His music is infused with funk influences, and his lyrics showcase what is possible with the Dutch language - including plenty of Brabant wordplay and the characteristic 'soft G'.
More than thirty years after 'Spraakwater', Extince takes the stage for a jubilee show at Groene Engel. He shares the podium with four-time Dutch DJ champion DJ DNS: two pioneers of Dutch hip-hop culture, together on one stage. The programme spans three decades of Nederhop - from the pioneering years to now.
