Via Inferno - Silbersee

Singer and theatre maker Sterre Konijn takes the audience on a personal musical journey inspired by Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. She descends into Dante's world and her own soul, searching for love, honesty, and the courage to face the darker sides of life.

With three musicians, she presents a mix of singing, text, and sound. Passages in Old Italian from Dante's work alternate with new Dutch-language reflections and music featuring viola, synthesizers, percussion, theremin, and duduk. The influences range from classical music and Gregorian chant to pop and non-Western traditions.

As a child, Sterre loved harmony - she only wrote good news in her diary. Now she longs for authenticity. Via Inferno asks whether you can truly love without also allowing doubt, discomfort, and the less beautiful sides of life. Here, darkness is not only something to fear, but also a place to see more clearly.
