The Scene - De tijd is nu

After a decade of silence, The Scene returns to the stage in 2026 with the original band members and a new frontman: Syb van der Ploeg (De Kast). Following the departure of frontman Thé Lau in 2014 and his death in 2015, the chapter seemed closed, but the musical chemistry between the band members remained intact.

The repertoire includes Dutch-language rock classics such as Blauw, Iedereen is van de wereld and Open. The line-up: Syb van der Ploeg (vocals), Emilie Blom (bass), Alan McLachlan (guitar), Ruben Hoeke (guitar), Jan-Peter Bast (keyboards) and Jeroen Booy (drums).

Support comes from VOS, the band around singer and songwriter René Geelhoed. VOS makes Dutch-language alternative guitar pop with guitar riffs and dreamy choruses, singing about small events with big impact. Their debut EP Buiten Slapen was released in summer 2025; in May 2026 they release the new single Magical Mystery (alsof ze alles weet). The band won 3FM Debuut in een Minuut, played support for among others Spinvis, The Kik and Thijs Boontjes, and toured Dutch clubs this spring.
