Martin Sillen

Four musicians from Maastricht - Jop, Luc, Erik and Dinand - are no strangers to Poppodium Nieuwe Nor. In 2023 they celebrated the release of their self-titled EP here; now they're back with a sound that has grown considerably since then.

Martin Sillen is not a person, but a fictional character that serves as a writing perspective. Through that lens, the songs explore love, doubt, making choices and breaking old patterns. Musically, this results in alternative indie rock with alternating guitar parts and multi-part vocals - songs that land immediately and reveal deeper layers on a second listen.

The band debuted in 2018 at Nu of Nooit, then still as OOST. Since then they've had 3FM airplay, released multiple EPs, produced their own concert film and received nominations for De Belofte and Best Song at the Limburgse Popprijzen. Their recent single Hopes Up is the first preview of their debut album, coming later this year.

Live they alternate energetic guitar rock with quieter moments, with multi-part vocals as the connecting element.
