Temple of Wave

Temple of Wave brings together new wave, post-punk and dark pop in one evening at Poppodium Nieuwe Nor in Heerlen. Three tribute bands take the stage, each dedicated to an icon from the 1980s: The Cure, Joy Division and Depeche Mode.

I Found The Cure
The Achterhoek-based band I Found The Cure consists of five musicians who capture the atmosphere and live energy of The Cure. With authentic new wave sounds, striking hairstyles and eccentric make-up, they bring the sound of Robert Smith and his band to life. Hits like A Forest, Lullaby and Boys Don't Cry are on the setlist. The band performed this year at a sold-out edition of Coverland, alongside tribute bands from across Europe.

Joy Division Undercover
In 2026 it will be fifty years since Joy Division was founded in Salford, Manchester. The band existed from 1976 to 1980, but their dark, emotionally charged music continues to influence generations of artists. Joy Division Undercover pays tribute to that legacy, with vocals that strikingly resemble those of Ian Curtis. The tribute band now also draws audiences from beyond the country's borders.

SNEAKERS
The Italian band SNEAKERS is dedicated to Depeche Mode and has become a fixture in the European new wave scene. Beyond musical quality, the band also pays considerable attention to the visual and artistic design of their performances.
