ShitKid

ShitKid is the project of Åsa Söderqvist, a Swedish musician who blends indie rock, raw punk and pop - influenced by Green Day and Good Charlotte. When she started in 2016, she gave herself five to seven years to be a rockstar. After that, she planned to become a nurse, something she'd wanted since age twelve.

Those years were prolific: a debut EP recorded on a broken shared computer in Gothenburg, debut LP 'Fish', the bedroom and car album 'This Is It', and '[DETENTION]', a pop-punk record about alienation in high school. She played Roskilde, SXSW, Way Out West and The Great Escape. Iggy Pop and Billie Joe Armstrong are fans. Bandcamp called her "Sweden's most peculiar musician."

Right on schedule, Söderqvist stopped - and started her nursing degree. But while studying, her audience quietly grew: younger, bigger and more international. Now it's been ten years since her first single came out. To mark the occasion, she's going on a world tour and releasing two compilation albums; the second, 'The Essential Vol. 2', comes out in September. The European spring tour sold out.

Five to seven years turned out not to be enough.
