ShitKid is the project of Swedish musician Åsa Söderqvist, launched in 2016 in Gothenburg and released through Stockholm label PNKSLM Recordings. Her lo-fi indie rock - raw, idiosyncratic, with an unmistakable punk edge - earned praise from NPR, The FADER and i-D, among others. After abruptly stopping in 2020, she returned in 2026 for a worldwide anniversary tour marking ten years of ShitKid.
The Essential (Vol. 2), a compilation of the more experimental side of ShitKid, was released on 11 September 2026 via PNKSLM Recordings, coinciding with a new European tour.

ShitKid announced a comeback in November 2025 with a worldwide anniversary tour in 2026, marking ten years of ShitKid.
Åsa Söderqvist performed in November 2025 as the only guest artist at the homecoming show of Viagra Boys at the Globen in Stockholm, her first public performance after five years of absence.
