Elephant Stone
Elephant Stone, the psychedelic project of Canadian sitarist Rishi Dhir, brings his tenth album ASHA - a work that blends traditional Indian music with Western rock.
Elephant Stone is a Canadian psychedelic rock band from Montreal, built around singer and sitarist Rishi Dhir. Their sound weaves Indian classical instruments - sitar, tabla, dilruba - into 1960s-influenced psych-pop and shoegaze, drawing comparisons to The Beatles and The Byrds. Over ten studio albums and collaborations with Beck and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, the band has earned a devoted cult following on both sides of the Atlantic.
Elephant Stone released their tenth studio album ASHA on August 28, 2026 via Elephants On Parade/Little Cloud Records.
The band announced European tour dates for autumn 2026, with ticket sales starting July 17, and a North American tour beginning in September.
The new single 'I Got a Pill' appeared in July 2026, accompanied by a music video full of puppets directed by Adam Traynor.
In March 2026, the band announced the album ASHA with the aggressive lead single 'Everything Evil', a proto-psych-punk track of less than two minutes.
ASHA is named after frontman Rishi Dhir's mother, who died in 2026; the album title means 'hope' in Sanskrit.
