Sterre Konijn - Via Inferno | Silbersee

A woman searching for her own soul, love and darkness - that is the heart of Via Inferno, a theatrical concert by Sterre Konijn in collaboration with theatre De Fransche School. Dante's masterpiece the Divine Comedy serves as the starting point for questions about life today: what does it mean to be human? Is love and connection possible without facing the dark depths?

Sterre Konijn descends into the dark recesses of Dante's world and her own soul. She, who as a child only wrote good news in her diary, searches for chaos and shadow sides - and for the love and harmony that might lie behind them.

Italian singing and Dutch texts are combined with a broad range of instruments: percussion, viola, synthesizers, theremin and duduk, played by four versatile performers. The music draws from contemporary classical music, Gregorian chant, pop music, non-Western music and minimal music, bridging Dante's world and ours.

This is a STIP production: pay what you can, without complimentary refreshments. The performance takes place at De Gelderlandfabriek in Culemborg.
