Blue Tears

Blue Tears is a new multimedia project exploring tragedy and humour through image and sound. Created by video artist Menno de Nooijer, visual artist and performer Sarai van de Boel, and voice artist Annick Binnendijk.

The work takes weeping Madonnas as its starting point. Tears easily connect to the world's great suffering, yet tragedy and humour often sit close together. Sometimes laughter at the difficulties of our time is the only way through.
