One Man Show | VOX muziektheater

Two women from bygone eras explore what it means to be a man in an attic filled with toys - out of sight of the man of the house. Using object theatre, baroque singing and electronic music, they interrogate the objects that are supposed to turn boys into 'real men': a toy gun, an action figure, a toolbox. In doing so, they also reveal how being a woman carries its own constraints.

The electronic music and baroque singing merge, accompanied by a man on electric guitar. With humour and sharp wit, the performance turns familiar images of masculinity and femininity on their head - and asks how you yourself have been shaped.
