Alto saxophonist Benjamin Herman spans jazz, funk, Latin and punk energy across more than fifty records. With New Cool Collective - the band he started in 1993 - and his solo output he has won five Edison Jazz Awards, capped by the Oeuvre Award in 2024.

In October 2025 Herman presented the sixth edition of the European Alto Festival in Rotterdam, with guest saxophonists Erena Terakubo (Japan) and Miru Han (South Korea).
