Cultura Nova

Cultura Nova is a visual theatre festival in Heerlen (Parkstad) that takes place every year at the end of August since 1991. With over 200 performances, concerts and exhibitions, the festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors.

The programme brings together international leading theatre companies with regional theatre makers and is aimed at audiences of all ages. Performances take place on location, in an outdoor theatrical setting or in a theatre hall, museum or pop centre.

Cultura Nova also serves as a breeding ground for (young) theatre makers and encourages collaboration between cultural organisations and interaction with the public.
