David Ramirez

Texas singer-songwriter David Ramirez performs at MEZZ in Breda. After a deliberate break - he wanted to avoid writing heartbreak songs and waited until the joy of making music itself took centre stage again - he returns with his latest album 'All the Not So Gentle Reminders'.

Ramirez has six studio albums and three EPs to his name, and previously collaborated on projects like the supergroup Glorietta. The new album features long instrumental intros and outros alongside raw, honest lyrics. In tracks like 'Maybe It Was All a Dream', intimate synths grow into arrangements with organs and electric guitars.

The result is his most ambitious and hopeful work to date - music created not with the thought that it had to work, but purely from the pleasure of experimentation.
