Library Card

Library Card from Rotterdam is a band of contrasts: expressive yet thoughtful, abrasive yet melodic, explosive yet introverted. They move effortlessly between angular post-punk, post-rock and raw garage, distinguishing themselves in a city already known for distinctive guitar music.

In November the band releases their debut album 'Peeling an Orange in Just One Go'. The title refers to a frantic rush of despair and self-imposed naivety. "Peeling an orange in one go feels like a pointless victory," explains Lot. "But when you manage it, you get that feeling of 'Oh nice!'." On the album, Library Card moves from sharp, free songwriting to a more honest look at the suffering brewing beneath.

The band grew quickly: within six months of their first official performance they supported Sports Team for 2000 people and closed the Rotterdam showcase festival Left of the Dial. Their headline show at Rotown sold out. Library Card has also appeared at ESNS, SXSW, Le Guess Who?, Best Kept Secret, Into The Great Wide Open, Dauwpop, Dour, Loose Ends, Supersonic, Maifeld Derby, Outer Town and Grauzone.

Library Card consists of: Lot van Teylingen (they/them) - vocals, Mitchell Quitz (he/him) - guitar, Kat Kalkman (they/them) - bass, Emre Karayalçin (they/them) - drums.
