Grote Geelstaart
Grote Geelstaart works with two drum kits and a collection of pedals that would make even the most devoted harsh-noise enthusiast take notice. The band balances like a tightrope walker perpetually on the verge of losing equilibrium - noise so orchestrated that it reinforces itself, to the point of bursting.
Live, the band fuses discordant sounds and unconventional time signatures into manic, danceable compositions. The neat shirts and ties they wear onto every stage eventually give way to nothing but the illusion of a well-dressed bunch of guys.
The band played Valkhof, Into The Great Wide Open and Hit The City in summer 2025, then toured the country at high speed with their debut EP 'Van Reijnst' during Popronde. They closed out the MAX at the finale in Melkweg. Early 2026 brought a show in the Bovenzaal during Noorderslag.
On 17 April, the band released 'Vracht 7', the first single from the upcoming EP 'Wij Zinken.' The festival season is already packed: confirmed performances at Best Kept Secret, Dauwpop and Oerol, plus multiple dates in Germany, Belgium and Portugal. 'Wij Zinken' arrives on 18 September, and with that EP in hand they come to Breda.
