.multibeat is a Utrecht-based future jazz trio that fuses hip-hop and jazz, with the beat at the core of everything they do. The three members - Thijs van Zutphen (bass), Aron Smit (drums) and Boudewijn Pleij (keyboards) - draw inspiration from Robert Glasper, J Dilla and the new British jazz wave, and regularly collaborate with a wide range of mostly local artists.

Live, they bring together original compositions, creative covers, improvisation and synthesizers in a single set.

In autumn 2026, their third LP 'OOO' will be released, their first release on the Berlin-based label Sonar Kollektiv. The album aligns with their live sound and features another series of collaborations.
