About

.Multibeat is a hip-hop/jazz trio from Utrecht, Netherlands, made up of Boudewijn Pleij (keys), Thijs van Zutphen (bass) and Aron Smit (drums). The three met while studying at the Utrecht conservatoire, where they first performed together as a live backing band called Muddy Grease. Their 2024 album Channel Island - featuring Pete Philly, Joya Mooi and Tennishu of Butcher Brown - cemented their reputation as a bridge between jazz, hip-hop and beat culture. Their third album OOO is released on 25 September 2026 via Berlin's Sonar Kollektiv.
