Arrested Development

Arrested Development has been active since 1991 and conquered the 1990s with their debut album '3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of...', which sold four million copies and earned them two Grammy Awards. Classics like 'Tennessee', 'People Everyday' and 'Mr. Wendal' remain among the most cited hip-hop tracks of that generation. The group has performed on every continent.

While gangsta rap dominated that era, Arrested Development deliberately chose a different path: hip-hop with soul, funk and African influences, combined with lyrics about spirituality, inequality and social change. They donated a large portion of their royalties to charitable causes and actively supported organizations like the National Coalition for the Homeless and the African National Congress (ANC).

On 4 July, their new album 'Adult Contemporary Hip Hop' is released, on which the group combines soulful boom-bap with sharp lyrics about current issues. In September they come to MEZZ in Breda.
