Church of Cash - A Tribute To Johnny Cash (USA)
Cultuurpodium Groene Engel, Oss
This is a standing concert.
Jay Ernest, frontman of Church of Cash, performs the work of Johnny Cash with a deep, resonant voice and stage presence that goes beyond mere imitation. He honours the Man in Black in a way that reveals why Cash became a legend.
With their fourth album Flowers for June, the band revisits both the classics and lesser-known tracks from Cash's catalogue. From "(Ghost) Riders in the Sky" to "One Piece at a Time" and "Ballad of a Teenage Queen" - performed with craftsmanship and love for the original. The album was recorded with a collective of musicians from Minnesota.
Church of Cash was founded in 2009 and has since played thousands of shows across the United States, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The band received the title Best Tribute Act 2019 and was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame. Beyond albums and international tours, Jay Ernest also created the theatrical production Folsom Prison Experience.
