Church of Cash is an award-winning Johnny Cash tribute band founded in 2010 in Honolulu, Hawaii, by singer Jay Ernest (Jay Ernest Kalk), a native of New Ulm, Minnesota. With a repertoire of around 130 songs, the band covers Cash's full career arc - from the raw Sun Recordings era to the intimate American Recordings albums. The band won the Midwest CMO Best Tribute Act award in both 2019 and 2021, and Jay Ernest was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 2021. After more than a thousand shows across the US, Europe and Asia, Church of Cash ranks among the most respected Cash tributes in the world.
Church of Cash returns in November 2026 to De Kroepoekfabriek in Vlaardingen for two shows on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 November - all previous shows in 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2023 were sold out in record time.
