Van Bavel & Van Bavel

Rob van Bavel won the Wessel Ilcken Award and an Edison for his album Rob van Bavel Trio. Shortly after graduating summa cum laude with the highest distinction, he took second prize at the prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz Piano Competition in the US. He has also received multiple awards in Germany and Belgium.

He has appeared on more than 200 recordings, both as a sideman and bandleader, and has performed worldwide with artists such as Randy Brecker, Johnny Griffin, Chet Baker and Woody Shaw. As a principal piano instructor, he was affiliated with the conservatories of Amsterdam and The Hague, and gave masterclasses throughout Europe and beyond.
