Rob van Bavel invites Tom Beek

Pianist Rob van Bavel is artist in residence at Muziekpodium DJS this season. Known for his lyrical playing and roots in jazz traditions, he has received multiple international awards and appears on more than 200 albums. He has performed with Woody Shaw, Wynton Marsalis and Chet Baker, among others.

Every fourth Sunday of the month, Rob invites a guest for an intimate afternoon full of improvisation. On Sunday 22 November, that guest is saxophonist Tom Beek - composer and producer, trained at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Beek has worked as soloist and sideman with the Metropole Orkest and the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, and has released several albums under his own name.
