DJS Jazz Orchestra ft. Ilja Reijngoud

The DJS Jazz Orchestra is the new house orchestra of Muziekpodium DJS, which is entering its 79th year. Led by Nils van Haften (Bob Brookmeyer New Art Orchestra, Metropole Orkest, New Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra), the orchestra performs a programme of classic jazz pieces, contemporary compositions, and new arrangements.

Collaboration with guest soloists is a cornerstone of the orchestra's approach. On 15 November, that guest is trombonist Ilja Reijngoud - a jazz trombonist, composer, and arranger who graduated cum laude with a Master of Music from the United States. He is known for his trombone playing and for his compositions and arrangements for diverse ensembles. For this concert, he has also written arrangements for the DJS Jazz Orchestra.
