Loma Prieta is a screamo and post-hardcore band from San Francisco, formed in 2005 and named after the earthquake that struck the Bay Area in 1989. Their sound merges the raw intensity of screamo with powerviolence and noise, growing darker and more melodic with each record. Releases on Deathwish Inc. - including I.V. (2012) and Self Portrait (2015) - cemented their reputation in the American underground. In 2023 they returned with their sixth album Last, eight years after their previous studio record.
Loma Prieta announced a West Coast tour and confirmed a European tour in the fall of 2026, with their album Last as the basis.
The band released their sixth studio album Last via Deathwish Inc., eight years after Self Portrait.
New Noise Magazine rated Last 4.5 out of 5 and called the band a cornerstone of the screamo scene.
