The Kilkennys - Tunes from the Temple Bar

Following their 25-year anniversary tour, The Kilkennys bring a brand new show to Dutch theatres: Tunes from the Temple Bar. The concept is inspired by the famous Irish pub The Temple Bar, where live music plays as long as the door is open.

The programme ranges from traditional folk to sing-alongs that get the whole room on its feet. The core lineup features Davey Cashin (vocals, mandoline, banjo, guitar, whistles), Tommy Mackey (bass, acoustic guitar, vocals) and Mick Martin (bodhrán, uilleann pipes, low whistles, guitar, vocals). Since 2024, Davey Long and Jason Turk have also joined the band.

The Kilkennys were founded by schoolmates and have been touring since 1998. In 2008 they adopted their current name, named after their hometown Kilkenny.
