Vígljós are a Swiss-German black metal band from Basel, formed in 2022. Their name is Old Norse for roughly 'the light just bright enough to kill a man'. The four-piece draws on second-wave Norwegian black metal while weaving in mellotron, synths and conceptual themes - bees on their debut, ergotism on the second album - released through French label Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions.
'Tome II: ignis sacer' was released on 19 September 2025 via Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions, on CD, LP and digitally.
The band released an official music video for the single 'A Seed of Aberration', the second preview of the new album.
Wonderbox Metal published a review of 'Tome II: ignis sacer' and described it as 'raw, underground black metal, yet simultaneously something greater'.
The single 'Claviceps' was released as the first preview of the second album, with the theme of the influence of the claviceps fungus on creativity and society.
