About

Kay Slice is a Ghanaian-Dutch musician and rapper from Rotterdam who calls his sound 'Diaspora Highlife' - weaving West African rhythms, Afrobeats and jazzy textures together with poetic hip-hop. Born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, he deepened his roots by temporarily relocating to Accra, where he learned to play the balafon. His debut album From Back To Back (2022) earned him a Sublime Award and a four-star review in NRC; the follow-up I Take U Highlife, co-produced with Anton de Bruin and recorded with his Ghanaian ensemble, is released on 23 October 2026 via Agogo Records.
