Rim Akandoh Jnr. & Amamere is a music project from Cape Coast, Ghana, blending 1970s guitar highlife with an Afro-funky vintage style.

Drummer and composer Rim Akandoh Jnr. founded the band in 2022, drawing from Ghana's rich musical heritage with a modern, energetic twist. Their debut album "Man Shall Be Free" features reworked classics from his father 'Mighty' Rim Akandoh and his Prince Sparrows Band, alongside pieces from West Ghana's Osoode medley tradition and original new songs. Beyond the pulsing highlife rhythm, the band stands out for its witty wordplay and lyrical depth.

The band quickly won over Ghanaian audiences and got crowds dancing during their first European tour in 2026. Now they're back at GROUNDS.
