Kay Slice | One Love - Celebrating 15 years of BIRD

On Wednesday, October 1st, Kay Slice closes the two-week anniversary programme One Love - a celebration of 15 years of BIRD. With his I Take U Highlife Tour, he presents his new album, a contemporary interpretation of highlife, the influential West African music tradition that serves as a foundation but seamlessly flows into hip-hop, jazz, soul and afrobeat.

Following the acclaimed From Back To Back, I Take U Highlife showcases how Kay Slice's sound has evolved further. The album was created with his Ghanaian band and producer Anton de Bruin, blending modern highlife with afrobeat, jazz, soul and hip-hop in a way that reflects the richness of the African diaspora.

Live, Kay Slice brings together live percussion, Ghanaian grooves, spoken word and personal stories in one show. His music revolves around identity, cultural pride and representation - always with rhythm, always with substance.

One Love ran from September 18th through October 1st, celebrating the music, the people and the collaborations that shaped BIRD over fifteen years. Kay Slice closes the programme at BIRD Rotterdam.
